This Parent and Student Handbook was designed to provide important information to students and parents. It is our intention that by providing this information, students, parents, and the Thornhill Elementary School staff can enjoy an exciting school year. We understand that each member of our school community has an important role to play and each of us is responsible for doing our part to ensure that all of us have a safe and successful school year.
Thornhill Elementary School is a welcoming and caring place that students, parents and staff can feel safe and work together for the success of all members of our community. We are very fortunate to have a staff that works hard to ensure that all students are free to take risks and grow as individuals.
All parents are welcome at our monthly Parents Advisory Council (PAC) meetings. The PAC provides support and encouragement in a number of different areas, such as fundraising, our Code of Conduct, and other educational and school related issues.
Thornhill Elementary School provides a number of outstanding extra-curricular opportunities for students in all grades. We run school sports teams, intramural sports, and a fantastic Enrichment program.
It is with pleasure that we look forward to working with you and your children this school year. We ask that you please read and review this Handbook together with your child(ren).
